Roommate problems

I am usually very good at managing people, I worked in retail before. This is the most frustrating experience of my life my roommate constantly threatens to call the cops on me, because I play music a lot. She dose not go to school right now, and I’m on break from school, before I start again especially on this trial I am in, she constantly threatens to call the cops on me, for playing music, and she brings random people over, who threaten me as well, with crazy things. So I clearly feel like I am in bine with this person because they will not leave me alone they constantly knock on my wall while I am trying to sleep, this person is not in school, and I always try to sleep but either she’s having sex with her girlfriend, or on the phone with her girlfriend late at night, or banging on my wall late at night, I can not do anything for the constant threat of her calling the cops on me for disturbing the peace but the Texas law says I can play music up to 70 BN between the hours of 7 am on the weekdays, I respect this person space, but my things get stolen in this roommate scenario. It feels very purposeful, as in she wants to send me to jail, as well as she hit me, and I told the cops but because they did not see it or something they did not arrest her. I told the leasing office about the situation, nothing really happens, so she’s feeding off this energy, and I have not been able to sleep or get my work done properly. It seems everything is on this person terms, while she exhausts me of my energy, while I try to channel it into something positive.
I stay away from this girl, she is 18, and extremely immature. I try to stay away from her. I am 21, so my responsibilities are a lot higher now.
Help, thank you. I always am leaving the dorm as well, so I’m not sure what to do. Thank you.

Is this in a dorm or off campus housing?

Use some goshdarn headphones.

  1. What can you do to help the situation? Get headphones. Do it. That takes away her issue and threats.
  2. If you are threatened, call the cops.
  3. Are you sleeping at night or during the day when she bangs on the wall?
  4. Lock the door to your bedroom.
  5. Report items stolen.
  6. If this is any kind of campus housing, then go immediately to the housing office and discuss.
  7. Talk to the police about how to handle this…you feel threatened by your roommate. What should you do? Is there evidence that would be useful? Is it legal to tape people without their permission in your state?
