Thanks for your help but how will this web-site help me since the guy I get stuck with has no idea who I am , nor what room he will receive.
Also, does anyone know how hard it is to get a single room ?

On the website, you make an account. It’s like a dating site. You get to know other inviduals, and once you find the one you want, you use them as a roommate request, preference.

Firstly, I’d like to point out, thank you for just about stalking my post. Really, it’s the cheery on top of my day. Secondly, there’s many other invidiuals who also post random things, not just myself. We all like to mess around, have fun, and just be silly. Sorry, didn’t realize it was illegal. Senior and I were discussing cheerleading, which lead to working out, which lead to body types. We’re both girls, chatting, so we’ll leave it at that. The pizza comment was based upon us talking about different food places in Illinois. As you can see, they have no relevance to you, so why bother pointing it out? I’m a friendly, optimistic person, who likes to talk. Shoot me, I do not care what you think of me. Yes, I got lucky to get into UCF. However, I had 700 hours of community service, wrote two novels, published writing, play four instruments, sing, and have ranked state in those both. I do not appriciate your obtuse minded comments. I am not a big shot, at all. However, I felt with a LOT my high school span, which in turn affected my grades. You have no clue, at all, the hell I’ve been through, so do not make assumptions. You could not relate to what I’ve been through. Thank you, though, I admire that you dislike me so much. Have a great day:)

You can send messages and if you decide you like the person, you’ll probably end up friends on facebook and get a feel for who they are. In turn they can see how you live and what you’re looking for out of UCF. Obviously it would also be best to request someone who picked the same housing preferences as you. Also, I don’t think it would be that hard to get a single room. Lake Claire is all single rooms as well as the Towers.

IN OTHER NEWS. Both FSU and UF do random assignment if you didn’t request and be requested by the same person. So in reality your chances are the same at any university…

Get into Burnett Honors, Excel, LEAD, or LEARN and you have housing with other academically involved students. Problem solved

Your bound to find your group with 60000 students

Also by doing a roommate matching service/questionnaire, some people will lie to find the roommate they want. A messy person will say they are clean, don’t smoke, and go to sleep early, to find a roommate that has those qualities when in reality they are a smoking, partying, slob. None of the quizzes and services and such are fool proof. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Censored, stop being a dick and don’t post when you’re on your period. If she wants to talk about herself sometimes in her posts and it bothers you, DON’T READ THEM, she talks about other factors as well. Don’t put somebody down for being excited to get into a school.

Thanks, Grayor. However…I agree with what he says. It’s luck that got me into UCF, and I don’t deserve it. Simple as that. It’s okay though.

Nah, it wasn’t luck, so what if your test scores weren’t as high as UCF likes to see, its not the only thing they look at, they looked at all aspects of your application and that is what got you in, if you hadn’t been “good enough” you wouldn’t have gotten in, there is no luck in college admissions, and on a completely off topic note, when you come down here and go to chic-fil-a you have to get a cookies and cream milk shake

I will be sure to:) Though, let’s not go into more detail. I don’t want to irritate other members on this thread. I’m not so sure about the luck situation, many should have been accepted over me, like my twin brother.

I wish you the best in finding a solid roommate, OP. If it doesn’t go your way though, you can always request a change? Make a deal with yourself. Within the first two weeks, you aren’t somewhat getting along, then request a change. There will probably be many other individuals experiencing the same thing, and they’d want to straighten it out. You could email them, and highly request that they don’t smoke, etc. Best of luck.

When you say single room, as in no one else in your housing unit…it’s almost impossible. There are very, very few single rooms and most go to RAs and national merit kids. You can choose apartment style where you would get your own bedroom…but then you’d have to share the rest of the apartment with 3 other people, TRIPLING the chances that one of them is a dirty smoking pothead ;)

Although you have been very rude to me in the past, I have never directed any of my threads towards you nor have I ever responded to one of your post in a derogatory manner. Also, you may believe that I am a self-centered wealthy
rich boy from Miami who has never had a bad day in his life, well so be it. Consider it luck. Consider it that my family is wealthy and I am set financially for life, but still consider it luck. Also, I hope that you consider your acceptance to UCF as luck the same way I consider my wealth as luck. For what it is worth, I am very proud of my family and their wealth and you should also be very happy and proud of your acceptance to UCF as 1000’s of prospective applicants wont get the chance that you got. I hope that you will put your self-pity to the side, attend UCF as planned, graduate with honors and succeed in life. All I ask is that you dont respond to any of my post, no matter how foolish they may seem to you.
