How do they pair up roommates? I know some schools have compatibility surveys or whatnot. Is it just completely random at UF?

There is not a lot of info here but did you see this link?

It's pretty much random. If you request a specific roommate and that person requests you, too, they will match you up. Otherwise, it is luck of the draw. They will give you contact info after your roommate is assigned (late June, I think). At that point, you can get in touch to see who is bringing what for the room, etc. If you end up wanting to change roommates because of a problem, I think you have to wait until after the first week of school to make the change request.

Its basically random unless you put the UFID of the person you want to room with.

Completely random from what I have heard. My friend who is a early riser (he swam last year) got stuck with kids who would be getting in at 4 AM nightly, when he had to get up at 4:30 AM. He also had to hide his food to keep it safe.

also if you change your preference number one as "roommates" and your roommate is at the bottom of the waiting list. they will bump you down to their priority date.

what kind of things should each roommste bring their own of and what kind of things should one bring and both share
