Rosebowl Questions!

Where does everyone usually stay in Pasadena when going for the trip? I would like to be with a lot of the college students that are going for the game, including Oregon fans. I am planning on being there on new years eve and staying a day or two after the game. Should I stay in LA or right outside of Pasadena and then drive to the rosebowl? I want a place that there will be a good nightlife where I will be able to go out and see fans from Wisconsin and Oregon who are there for the game.

Thanks.

Hey I actually go to Wisconsin and was there last year for the game. I stayed in LA (on Wilshire Boulevard) and most people did stay in different hotels in downtown LA. I also know some people who stayed in Pasadena, but I would say to stay in LA because you’re closer to the Santa Monica Pier (which is where everyone ends up going during the day) as well as most other people’s hotels. And a cab ride anywhere for New Years is much cheaper from a hotel in downtown LA (assuming you’d be going to a party/club in LA) than from Pasadena. The advantage of staying in Pasadena is being closer to the actual game on gameday (shorter drive/cheaper cab ride if you’re taking a cab).

All in all, I’d recommend staying in LA because the nightlife is better and you’ll be closer to places to visit during the day and at night.

Soooo jealous you’re going to the Rose Bowl! Tickets are ungodly expensive and so hard to get! I’m sure the whole area will be packed though, wherever you are you’ll have fun :)

Also, I know some companies working out of Madison (one here is called Badger Trips) have certain packages with airfare, hotel and all that. Do they have something similar at Oregon? If you don’t want the actual package, just see what hotels all the packages have people staying at - I’m sure there will be lots of fans there!
