So my current GPA is 2.97 and I was wondering if I should round my GPA up to a 3.0 on my college applications because It would look better. I know they have the transcripts but I just feel that when they read my application, a 2.97 might deter them away from actually looking my application closely but on the other hand a 3.0 could make it seem like I can be a contender. Any thoughts?
You are def not supposed to round up.
No. If the form allows you to enter 2.97, that’s what you enter. Daughter school makes it very clear for merit award that gpa’s will NOT be rounded. With a 2.97, you would not get a scholarship, with a 3.0 you would (depending on test scores).
You can, however, raise that gpa to a 3.0+.
