Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama

Did u ever get any replies to your post? My S is interested in the Contemporary Perf. Major too.

Sorry all - now that I’ve had the tome to Read the prior posts I can see it is a very good program
Just would like to explore his options more on the study of classical and contemporary acting in the program and whether he’s able to take up both there.

My son loved his audition with the RSAMD (now the Royal Conservatorie) and seriously considered going there. He loved Andrew Panton (probably the accent.) Because my son is also a multi-instrumentalist and has as much experience in Rock/Pop music as musical theatre, they were very interested in him. Andrew Panton expressed a desire to develop “quad-threats” sing-dance-act-instrumentalist-songwriter-etc. My son not only sang and danced at the audition, they asked him to play and sing a pop song he knew on the piano and a song he wrote. The progeam is also a 3-year BFA with a 4th year MFA which was also inticing. He may try to go for his MFA when he is done with his BFA here in the states.

This thread seems a to have dwindled down, but if anyone’s willing to answer me, it wouldn’t go unappreciated!

I’m about to start my senior year of High School (I’m a NYer), and right now, The Royal Conservatorie (RSAMD) is my dream school. From how alumni talk about what they’ve learned (and how much), to the location, and truly, because I love acting with a passion. I’ve done a drama and musical every year since 5th grade. Including being stage manager for multiple productions, spot light operator, and I’ve had a batch good roles.

However, other than those school productions, I’ve done nothing else. Truthfully, as not only an American, but also someone who hasn’t been doing drama their entire life, what are my chances of getting accepted at RSAMD? Slim to none?
