The day is finally here my friends. In 11 hours we will get our acceptances. Once they come out can we post some stats like act, gpa, major, etc for the people next year?
@lovespink I visited RPI with DS in June 2017. The campus is truly lovely with all the historic buildings. The performing arts center is new and quite amazing, located perched on the hill. My favorite part was the computer center which is an enormous old church building. Overall, I really liked it. We were told that housing is roughly 1/3 each for greek, dorms and other off campus housing.
Be aware that the neighborhood around the campus is not the best. Looking up local crime stats will be sure to set your hair on fire. That said, I expect you can avoid any issue by being careful. The part of town beside the river features nice dining, with at least one brewery and other hot spots.
Just a little more waiting! Best wishes to all.
@CarminaOhBurana Yep, that is the date everyone is talking about
Good luck everyone!
You too @anonymous_otter127!
Hey guys, I have a question regarding the applicant status page. This probably won’t mean anything, but does everyone here have the “ST” attached to their names in the title of the page right under the “Rensselaer” logo?
For example, my page looks like this:
[ ] Rensselaer
why not change the world? ©
Application Status for [Full Name] ST / Fall 2018
If you need to contact us regarding your application, provide your name and RIN. Your RIN is: ########
Right next to your “[Full Name]” - do you guys also have that “ST?”
I thought about what it could have meant, so I came up with the acronym for the school of my major or my major itself, but obviously, ST didn’t mean any of that since it begins with different letters…
I’m being too obsessed/paranoid with this, aren’t I?
@vanillaice mine does and it’s had it since the start
For me, it didn’t appear until just recently. Maybe I’m hallucinating or not but I don’t recall that being there when I first received my applicant link months ago
ST means Standard [decision/admissions].
ohhhh lmaoo
I have a 3.9 and 1440 and I don’t have the date.
I have a 3.9 and a 1410 and don’t have the date and I’ve shown a ton of interest.
Is this weighted or unweighted gpa?
It would make sense that if you see the date you’ve either been accepted or rejected and that if you don’t see the date then you’ve been waitlisted. This is not taking into account stats because there’s great stats on both sides but just the fact that the notification date is missing could mean you’ll have to wait a little while longer perhaps?
Our date went away an hour ago after having been there up until then. My guess is that they are loading up notifications by some order: within school, alphabetical, etc.
Wait! My date disappeared! Maybe that just means they input your decision and it’s ready to be sent out.
I strongly believe that the date does not mean anything. When you get accepted to schools they display your decision letter, I highly doubt that having a decision date in the corner would affect that. I think that the decision date notification is simply a glitch
^ After getting rejected from GaTech, I thought RPI was going to decimate me with a WL (due to the decision date thing). Doesn’t look like that may be the possibility now
Mine just disappeared just now, I think @anonymous_otter127 is right that it is when decisions are put in.
Mine disappeared as well. If they were put in making the date disappear then we now wait for the early decision hacks.
