I was accepted to both of these schools for computer engineering and after the scholarship I received, the prices are about the same, but I've been hearing that the UIUC computer engineering is significantly better than RPI's. Can anyone offer me some advice and information pertaining to which school would be better suited for me? What are the top employers for graduates of each, starting salaries, etc.

Sorry can’t say much about the computer programming but have you been to the campuses? In terms of city location both are not that great - UIUC pretty much makes up the city. In terms of atmosphere they are very different. UIUC has many other majors etc so the student body is more diverse. Also the size is very different. UIUC has almost 10X more students. Part of it comes down to small school vs large school. UIUC campus is pretty - I’ve been there many times and it covers much more area than rpi

I’ve only been to the RPI campus and I like the school itself, but not so much Troy.
