Hi, I'm in my junior year of high school and as for next year's summer endeavors, I am planning to apply for RSI, TASP, and some other programs for backup (which may I also add are much easier to get in). I am definately more experienced with science research, not purely for technical reasons but more as for meeting very inspiring people. As far as the social sciences go, I had a very good APUSH teacher this year who got me interested in the social sciences and I feel that TASP would help open up more possiblities.

Thing is, IF I do get accepted to both programs (maybe unlikely but IF), which one is a better pick? I know RSI is probably fourfold more competitive and shows greater academic prowess on a college app, but as a sidenote, I am Asian and I'm supposing that pure scientific interests would restrict the diversity of my EC's and might not serve as good of a purpose as TASP. Either way, I share an equal amount of interest and passion in both programs, its just the app process and colleges that will determine the choice.
