Attended RU NB in the spring as a commuter. Not sure if i would actually like staying up there, although its an awesome campus. Put in a school to school transfer for Camden, but i really don't think it's for me. Got accepted to Rowan about a week ago.

So i'm really torn between the 2. If i go to Rowan i will commute. If i go up to NB i will stay on campus (college ave- already have a dorm assignment). I just don't want to spend the extra $ to live up in NB if it isnt worth it. If anyone has any insight to either school it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi rulove. I just graduated from RU and I lived on our College Ave campus for all four of my years here, and they were honestly the best years of my life. If you can afford it, I would recommend the experience. That being said, you should make your decision based on the school rather than the housing situation (though I understand that the two are intertwined). You are shelling out a ton of money to graduate with a degree–either from Rutgers or Rowan. Though I’m obviously biased in favor of Rutgers you should think about the sizes of the two schools as a significant point of comparison. Rutgers is big… which means lots of opportunities, tons of resources, and country-wide name recognition. People in California have heard of Rutgers…I’m not sure if I can say the same about Rowan. However, if you plan on living/working in New Jersey for the rest of your life than perhaps Rowan would be fine for you. Again, I can’t speak from firsthand knowledge of Rowan but I know Rutgers is awesome for involvement (400+ student organizations), study abroad, and getting funding to do research. My boyfriend graduated from Rowan and he enjoyed his time there, though he got bored of the small environment with not much to do. When him and his friends got bored they would drive up to Rutgers where there is always something going on. Rutgers, as you of course already know, is located in a cool city (New Brunswick) and is just a trainride from the city. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and I hope this helps.
