Attended RU NB in the spring as a commuter. Not sure if i would actually like staying up there, although its an awesome campus. Put in a school to school transfer for Camden, but i really don't think it's for me. Got accepted to Rowan about a week ago.

So i'm really torn between the 2. If i go to Rowan i will commute. If i go up to NB i will stay on campus (college ave- already have a dorm assignment). I just don't want to spend the extra $ to live up in NB if it isnt worth it. If anyone has any insight to either school it would be greatly appreciated!

That, my friend, is a $50,000 to $70,000 question. Here’s another factor: How many people do you know that went to RU-NB and got their undergrad degree in 8 semesters, let alone in bio? I don’t care what their brochures say; I can’t remember the last time I met one, and I’m old. And a recruiter. The only way I’d risk that $50-70K + an extra semester’s tuition + interest is if you really, really, really wanted to go there.

Rutgers-Camden was a logical Plan B/C, the best of both worlds. But it wasn’t for you. That’s OK.

In your case, I’d go to Rowan, but don’t think of yourself as a commuter. Get involved and disciplined and spend all your waking hours there. Even study there. Just go home to sleep. Or meet friends and crash on their floor.

Then use the money you saved for grad school, a trip to Europe, an investment, or some other expense that you can convert into an ASSET instead of a long-term liability (like a sports car or video game).
