Hey, I know this is years later, but I’m an incoming freshman and I just got placed into a LCT in Rubin even though I didn’t request it. Honestly, I’m freaking out about the whole situation. Any advice/pictures that you could send my way would be greatly appreciated Thank you so much

I undertand you are permitted to eat at all dining halls. It is just a matter of preference, proximity and convenience for the student.

nyugirl,

I think I responded to a previous post from years ago. Sorry for that. Try this link that has been referred to many times here for pictures of Rubin and reviews:

Hey, just wondering too if the email the pictures offer is still going on cause I’ve seen all the other sites and I’m not sure if any of them are LCTs

clarelcoolcar@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance!!

nyugirl,
D was in a LCT at Rubin. It was very doable. But we wanted a LCT. Love the building, the area and it has a dining hall.

nyugirl - My daughter was also in a LCT in Rubin. They easily unbunked the beds. Plenty of room, although some rooms are a bit bigger than others. Other LCTs were bigger than hers. It’s not tight by any means. One of her roommates was local, so she was gone usually from Fri AM to Mon PM. Like m&s said, it’s a great building and the area is gorgeous.

Do I have a chance of being placed into Rubin LCT if I request the dorm change?

You might. Seems like people get put in LCT even if they didn’t request it. So it is plausible that they would request a room change as well.

It says Rubin on my bill, and since the price is around $3000 Im assuming I got into a LCT. Yay! I’m really hoping it stays this way, I’m really excited about it! Does anyone know anything about the views from the LCT rooms in Rubin?

Look at the room information. The room numbers tell you where they are and the view.

can anyone tell me anything about the 1621 LCT? or just any 21 rooms
thanks

also i had a question about the internet…
does Rubin have wifi in the rooms? if not, is there more than one ethernet jack? what if my roommates and i all need to be on the internet?

There is a floor plan posted in the Facebook group. The -21 room is the first room around the corner of the elevators. It faces the back/inside of Rubin, so you get a view of other buildings around it. The sixteenth floor is the top floor for students though.

The building has wi-fi in the second floor lounge and lobby, but in your rooms you have to use an Ethernet cord. There are enough connections for everyone in the room, although they may be in weird/inconvenient locations.

i found the floor plan online and it said that room 21 is one of the larger rooms, is that correct?

^^ i realized though the floor plan contradicts some information given on this site: http://nyuhousing.wikispaces.com/Rubin

which one should i trust?

Use the link in post #56. The dorm in the link in #55 is a different Rubin at the School of Medicine.

This is the one posted in the group.
