Rush Week

None of my friends are rushing. Would it be weird to go solo to the smokers?

seriously no one?

I’m sorry, but I have no idea what rushing is. So I doubt I’ll be doing it if I get in lol.

It’s only as weird as you make it. If you go in by yourself with the confidence to talk to brothers and not just awkwardly stand around then you’ll be fine. In my pledge class of 20+ last year, I know 4 of my pledge brothers rushed alone (or at least split up with the group they were rushing with mid-week). Most rush with a group for at least the beginning of the week but there definitely are a lot of people who rush alone. Just be yourself and you’ll be fine.

not rushing could be the single worst decision one could make

not rushing could be the single worst decision one could make

That assumes all students are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority. There are definitely a lot of students that won’t rush for one reason or another.

^thats true though I feel like if you’re at all a social person, particularly for guys, you should rush just for the experience. its harder to say that for girls cause rush is so structured and stressful, but for guys you’re really just going to a bunch of parties and getting free food and meeting tons of new people, and theres always a chance you’ll end up meeting a bunch of guys who you’d have a lot of fun with. When I talk to people who aren’t sure whether they to rush or not I usually tell them to just give it a try, if you don’t like it you don’t have to go through with it, and you could end up pleasantly surprised.
