Hello,
I would like to ask what do the many companies, including the Big 4, think of Accounting grads from Rutgers?
Is it better than most of the other universities/colleges in New Jersey or Tri State Area?

Thanks for the responses.

bump. any advice?

Super bump!

Rutgers have very good reputation for their business school. However I must warn you that it is tough to survive there.

Do you have to do research papers throughout any of the classes in the accounting degree? And are the research papers very strict and demanding as if an English professor assigned it?

Also, why is it tough to survive?

Because most of the teachers there are very tough. I am not saying all of them but most are. If you are NOT used to working hard in HS or came from a community college, get ready for a tough transition. I don’t think your first 2 years at RBS will be tough since you would be taking the prereqs to get into the business school but when junior year comes by, it is going to get tough.

as far as research papers go, I don’t think you would have to do that for your major classes. I am not quite sure about the others.

I know lots of people who transferred from CC and barely survived their first semester at RBS. Some got kicked out for not having the GPA. They actually just dropped the GPA requirement to stay in the business school from 3.0 to 2.5 last semester.

thanks for the info soccerguy and everyone else. but i still want to know if well known companies like the Big 4 actually like Rutgers new brunswick. Like if they recruit a lot.

YES many big 4 companies recruit at RBS
