Rutgers callback?

To those that received callbacks so far, were you at the Chicago unified’s? Or is that just another rumor?

Any news? Haven’t heard of anyone else getting feedback from Rutgers.

Heard nothing here. :(

Nothing here either.

Nope! My D thinks from friends that those that auditioned far away heard first - Chicago, LA and those from on-campus and NY will hear by the 1st. Hoping that’s true!

I know of a girl who auditioned on campus and received a callback around the same time as everybody else. Unfortunately, I’m still waiting to hear back too.

Oh well! There goes that theory then! :(

Not to torment everyone with hope, but last year my daughter was in the same situation. She did not receive a callback letter for the first campus callback in early March. Meanwhile, other students were admitted, rejected, and wait-listed. She and some others heard nothing. But in late March she heard from MG and was asked to come in for another callback in early April (after April 1). She and about 7 others attended the callback and, as far as I am aware, all were admitted.

thanks, glassharmonica. What a bewildering process at all these schools! I think I like the old days when my friends and I all found out about our college decisions on April 1 from all our schools.
My S auditioned on campus in New Brunswick although we live in Chicago (Rutgers is one of his favorites and we were out East for Ithaca auditions anyway). Just to keep flight costs reasonable, if he does indeed get the opportunity to get a callback, I hope we’d have some advance notice…

I picked up the phone to Mason Gross. My S was not on the callback list, but the person to whom I spoke stressed that this is not necessarily a rejection. She thought that rejections would start coming out after the callback weekend. She also mentioned that a wait list had yet to be determined.
I don’t really know what this means. Are there some applicant that are viewed so positively they don’t need them for callbacks? That seemed to happen last year. Is the best we can hope for to be put on a wait list?
Anyway, thought I’d share…

So from your phone call you now know that the callbacks have been sent out? So we can stop thinking there’s still a chance at a callback? Sigh :(

ClaresMom- Yes, they did tell me all callbacks had been sent out. Sorry. We’re in the same boat. However, I go back again to the general confusion - there were students last year admitted who had not been invited to the callbacks.

Thank you, yes I met those kids too. Wish we could just skip all this and get to April!! Terrible to be wishing away some of the last few months they’ve left! There’s 4 college websites I check every day… repeatedly lol

My class went to Chicago Unifieds which is where I auditioned and so did a few of my classmates. Four of us got called back. Two guys, two girls. I’m one of the guys.

S was notified by email earlier this week that he is on the wait list. Thought that was strange since he was not invited for the callback weekend, and the callback weekend is just this weekend. Thrilled that he’s not rejected, but did this happen to anyone else?

No, my son still hasn’t heard a thing. What an odd situation.

Acting17: That certainly lends credibility to the belief that they are accepting some students from callbacks and some otherwise. Thanks for the update! Crazy system!

I was just told in an admissions meeting that anyone who has not been called back or wait listed is no longer being considered.

Thanks IsaacMt. How was the callback weekend overall?

Thanks IsaacMT; that is very helpful information. :)
