Hey everyone! I know that it's come up on a couple of other threads but I thought I'd try to see if we could get this year's information/process in one place without having to dig through other threads.

Anyone invited to callback weekend yet this year? When and how notified?
Other rumors circulating like the past two years (admittance w/o callback invitation, 2nd callback weekend, etc.)

According to the 2013-2014 audition day thread, msmommy’s S has received a callback from Rutgers and Josh703 has 2 friends who have received callbacks. Maybe they will chime in.

Yes, my S received an email last Friday. He used his own airline miles to purchase a ticket and he will be traveling alone. They asked that he arrive after 5 on Friday and leave around 1 on Monday. Miraculously, the only direct flights from our part of the country meshed perfectly with these times and it is during our Spring break…so no more missed school. Rutger’s was toward the bottom of his list at the end of auditions, but I think that had nothing to do with his audition or their program, just that it was one of the only campuses he had not had a chance to visit. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about them and see if it feels like a match to him. And then of course he only needs to be accepted. LOL!

I’m wondering how many people are at the callback weekend. And I don’t remember how many they accept.

I did a walk in to Rutgers and hopefully theyre not done announcing the callbacks! my friend said he has not officially gotten a callback but they told him to remember when call back weekend was, as if saying, youre likely to get a callback. ill stay updated on this thread!

What I said above, they have a history of accepting a few students without callbacks. Or-- this person is confused and was accepted to the BA program, not the BFA. Or perhaps lying.

That Unifieds page you’re talking about are for people who “heard back” from colleges. This includes people who’ve heard rejections, acceptances, and CALLBACKS. I believe this boy was called back.

While things said on this site have to be taken with a grain of salt what gets posted on the Unifieds page (it was called the Allied last year) should really be ignored for the most part.

I actually believe the Unified page is far more reliable than CC. It’s a lot more difficult to ■■■■■ in that group than it is here in this forum. Also, no offense, on the Unified the news is coming straight from the horses (prospective/current students) mouth and not from parents or people who went through this process many years ago, etc.

It may be that Rutgers went back to its process from 2 years ago. I agree that acceptance letters is pretty reliable. I can say that last year there was none out prior to the callback weekend.

The acceptance letter was from another school…sorry about the misinformation. These kid on that FB page seem to be pretty with it and posting genuine information. :)

Hard to dispute the validity when someone posts an acceptance letter but it’s all a good reminder that things people post often need to be taken with a grain of salt. I know that there are things posted here where the same applies. Unfortunate and unnecessary, but true.
