That’s can’t be true. I’m OOS and won’t commit until know merit and if it’s comparable to PSU or Pitt in-state.
The “Your Next Steps” card that comes in the acceptance package states under the March header "Scholarship recipients will receive information regarding their scholarship in their financial aid offer letter, which can be accessed at my.rutgers.edu. Visit admissions.rutgers.edu/scholarships for more information. "
I can confirm this is consistent with prior cycles.
Yes, My daughter emailed them and they couldn’t answer her question. I got the impression they don’t look at the applicants’ applications when they email, because the question was never answered.
There was a response, but it was generic and never addressed what this random update meant. She even asked if it could be a technical issue…not addressed.
@BTMSC98 you continue to tell the same story- how you could not figure out how to complete the SRAR & that you blame Rutgers for not understanding you never bothered to search for the link.
Sorry if this sounds direct ( although this is the Jersey way), why are you still trolling this thread if your daughter w/drew her application from consideration?
Parents and students are here seeking advice from peers- not to hear someone complain about the same story.
google SRAR Rutgers
i already filled it out, it’s just not reflecting on the portal
I’m a Nyer. I’m not threatened by the Jersey way; However, in your state and in your school system everyone may be very familiar with that link you shared with me. Here in CA I have never seen that link.
Also, if a school wants you to use that link why wouldn’t they tell an applicant?
As I stated my daughter used the portal at Penn state to report her SRAR as well as the Coalition Application.
That SRAR link isn’t used by all schools. OOS people may have zero knowledge of such a site. The fact that other parents are questioning the same thing should be a flag. Besides, she asked if anyone saw this in their portal and we did so I stated our experience with trying to figure this out.
I am also not trolling this thread. It happens to come up because I have posted on it before.
This is my FOURTH child applying to college. This is the first time we have run across such a link (thanks to you not Rutgers). To this day Rutgers hasn’t instructed my daughter to use that link to report her SRAR.
I’m not against Rutgers, I’m disappointed. The one thing I have learned in having almost 3 college graduates (#3 is a senior) communication within the school is very important otherwise the chances of graduating in 4 years are slim. Would you not agree?
My daughter did all of the communication and graduated Rutgers in 3 1/2 years, I don’t think she had any issues.
Goodness, I’m not saying you can or cannot. I am saying that communication is vital.
Jeezzz… If we didn’t like Rutgers she would have never applied. We are OOS coming from CA. That is a very long distance to apply to a school we don’t like.
Sorry that everyone is getting bent because I said I was disappointed.
This platform does not permit you to delete comments. Trust me I would have because obviously there are Rutgers or die people on here. I truly appreciate that. I am from NY and grew up liking Rutgers. Why do you think my daughter applied in the first place?
We would not have wasted our time or money on applying if she wasn’t interested. We also would have been full pay OOS. We also visited the NB campus to make sure prior to applying.
“Our” experience was disappointing. That’s not to say others had the same. Just ours.
BTW because of the CA system I do look at graduation rates. NB had the best out of the Rutgers system.
Congrats to your daughter I’m glad she didn’t have any issues.
Hi - Has it shown up yet? I know that once you submit, it takes time to transmit it to Rutgers and reflect on the record. I just submitted my daughter’s Q1 and Q2 grades, so I’m wondering what to expect.
No- I absolutely do not agree with sending a kid to school w/ the expectation that everyone should provide answers to him/her & that no effort is expected on their part.
The irony of your complaint about needing to search for the link is that you are making it on a site used by people sufficiently self-motivated to seek answers on their own.
As for self-reported grade input being unique, I assume have you heard of the UC system. Filling out the application | UC Admissions They do not call it the SRAR but it works the exact same way &, like at Rutgers, they are not going to complete it on your behalf when you ignore the requirements and send them a transcript instead.
This is my last comment on this issue. I only called you out because your comments were not helpful to those posting on this thread. I am not going to contribute to unproductive banter. I truly wish you well; this can be an incredibly stressful time for some applicants.
nope, and i submitted it jan 29th
Ugh. Even if the box isn’t checked off on the portal, if you go into the SRAR site itself, does it say anything about it having been sent to Rutgers?
Send them a short message that you updated your SRAR but your portal still shows that the midyear update is missing. Ask them to verify it and if there is anything else missing.
That is a huge assumption.
It’s also extremely mean and insulting, and it has nothing to do with you being from NJ.
My daughter did the SRAR. If you read, you would have seen that I posted she did a SRAR, and Rutgers downloaded it.
She did it twice for Penn State because they requested it again, but PS had a link on her portal. Rutgers did not.
Her Rutgers application indicated that her application was complete, and Rutgers downloaded all her transcripts. Then she gets some random email requesting it again. The confusion led me here to ask that question.
No one stated that she wanted someone to do it for her. The responses to the emails she sent (getting clarification) were scripted and never answered her question, and if Rutgers wanted her to do the SRAR on that link you provided, wouldn’t it have been easy for them to post the link in their email response?
They didn’t because she did it. I think they were probably confused why she was asking. I am now thinking that the random SRAR email may have been a generic reminder? I don’t know, but because she is diligent, she followed up.
It is obvious that you like coming here and insulting 17 yo students.
This child is my fourth going to college and is 9 for 9 in EA acceptances; She doesn’t do anything without putting in the effort. My mistake was coming here. I thought maybe some friendly parent could explain it.
As far as trying to use the UC system as an example? They have their portal. It’s all contained, but thanks.
yes, it says it was completed and sent to Rutgers but nothing on the portal… guessing it’s a glitch but wouldn’t know who else to ask if they see the same thing!
Rutgers was the only school that used the coalition application. There were several times when I wasn’t sure something went through or if it was received. I emailed admissions several times to ask in a panic. In the end I think it was a long delay between the coalition app and it getting posted on the site. I hope l they switch to the common app. The schools that used it seemed to have a smoother experience.
We live in NJ. When my D was applying to Rutgers, her school counselor advised her to apply through Rutgers website instead. I guess most counselors in NJ HS knew there are glitches between coalition and RU. The SRAR was a non-issue to us as it was written clearly on the RU website that one must submit it separately. I do think though it is on Rutgers to get the issue fixed.
The Rutgers app was redone this year and it was very buggy in the early stages at one point my daughter’s page showed parent info for another student.
