I am an instate high school junior. I am very worried that I wouldn't be able to get into Rutgers :/ specifically their engineering program. I have this dilemma and I was wondering if anyone knows the answer. I entered 3 honors in freshmen year and got 2 Cs and a B- in the courses. So I had to drop down to regular besides one honors class. I then got a C+ in Regular Chemistry and Bs in all the other courses. Now I have 1 AP course (AP Computer Science, currently a B+) and all regular classes. I was wondering if I will be able to get into Rutgers.
Freshmen GPA: 3.00
Sophomore GPA: 3.12
Junior: I'm expecting around a 3.3.
Senior: I plan on taking 3 APs senior year so will Rutgers look highly upon it?

I'm didn't take the SATs yet. But I am predicting around a 1800 or so. I'm just REALLY worried about getting into their engineering school. Do I really have a chance at all? Should I apply early for rolling admissions?

I have several ECs, but I don't know if Rutgers will value them or not:
Athletic Trainer Intern
200+ Volunteer Hours at hospital, old age home, etc
Executive Board in FBLA, Student Council, Pre-Med Club
State Director for Future Civics Leader

i’d say you have a chance
make sure you apply EARLY (meet their early action deadline), because people who apply late for a “last resort” might not get accepted

Apply by the early action deadline. My son had ok grades in 9th, horrible in 10th and 3.5 for 11th. He is still waiting to hear about NB campus, and was accepted to Newark for the 2+2 engineering program. As a junior he will go to NB. Good luck!

my gpa was 3.75 when I applied
I got 2030 on the sat, but I used my act score instead because I did better on it.
im going to schools of arts and sciences this year honors program.

I’m in Rutgers engineering right now and I’m positive you’re fine. Most of the kids I’ve met are just normal students with average GPAs and SATs; nothing too stellar.

Junior year I had a 3.4 unweighted GPA, a 1930 SAT, 3 AP classes, and a handful of ECs. If I could get in easily, I’m sure you can too. Just remember to apply early and write a good essay.

Also, Rutgers is amazing. I’ve been here less than a week and I’ve already had adventures with friends until 4am. Good luck!

My brother is also applying to Rutgers SE, and i think he has around the same stats as you: 3.2 UW GPA, 3.7 W GPA (apparently the new SRAR or whatever it is tells him to report the weighted GPA) and he has between 1800-1900 on SATs.
chances are, if he’s getting in, so are you =)
