Rutgers Greek Life?

Alright, can someone on here try and give me a decent idea of what the Greek life is like at Rutgers? I'm an incoming freshman and plan on rushing. Are most of the fraternities chill and easy-going, or is the majority made up of guys who are snobby and arrogant? Also, will it be necessary for me to go shopping for some polos, khakis and sperrys before the semester starts, haha? Rutgers doesn't seem to have a very dominant Greek life, so I'm honestly not sure what to expect.

“Rutgers doesn’t seem to have a very dominant Greek life, so I’m honestly not sure what to expect.”

This statement is absolutely false, you will see students always representing greek organizations. Attend the Fall involvement fair, as for clothing you can wear whatever you want except some frats/sor will have a certain guideline during pledging most likely.

To give you a heads up, from 8am-12pm you will see people in pajamas or casual clothes because you are going to class and are going to be to tired to wake up 1 hr before class to get ready. Most likely as the semester goes on, you will sleep till the last minute before its absolutely necessary to wake up.

greek-life is definitely something that plays a role at rutgers. as far as the type of people in a fraternity, it kind’ve varies from frat-to-frat.

dressing up for class isn’t completely necessary…but it’s something that some people like to do. every lecture hall has a handful of people rocking their button-downs and sperrys. as far as style goes…just do whatever you wanna do.
