I was accepted to Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences Honors program and The Carroll School of Management. However, the cost of attending BC would be 47,000 after scholarships. The cost of RU would only be 16,000.

I plan to attend graduate school (maybe for Financial Engineering) if I go to RU, but if I go to BC, I don’t know if I will be able to afford it. Instead, I may work a few years and get an MBA later down on the road.

Although the difference is almost 30,000, my family can afford it by making sacrifices, but is it worth it or not?

Rutgers is a very good school and if you do well there, you will certainly be able to get into graduate school – particularly if you are in its honors program, so don’t worry about that. Rutgers graduates also do well with grad school acceptances.

Much as I love BC, that sort of cost difference ($30K x 4 years = $120K) could more than pay for a 2-year masters program or an MBA at the most prestigious schools PLUS buy you a nice car!
