Congratulations! Which campus gave the Provost scholarship? I only saw this mentioned on the Rutgers Camden page.

Skp, thanks for posting. Wow, another scholarship would be great. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, though!

MomPhD, it was the Newark campus that gave the provost.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone LOST their scholarship? I mean, I read the conditions and I'm worried because my GPA may have dropped this semester, so once Rutgers gets my final report is it possible they may lower my scholarship money before entering this fall?

I don't think they ask for your final report, Medusafelix, so I wouldn't worry.

First-Year Scholarships

Do the numbers (95-100, 94-90, 85-89) represent unweighted or weighted GPA?

I'm a sophomore and I have a 95.4 GPA and I'm taking 4 APs next year. Do I need to work ultra-hard to get at least a 95? If I do end up with a 94 by hte time I graduate, will I really lose $40,000 total, or could I appeal and show them all the activities and volunteering I did? Thanks.

those numbers mean class rank. so for example, 95-100 means top 5% of your class, 94-90 is 5-10%, etc. it really depends on your school and classmates then (at least for that criterion). if you are in the top 5% and have a 1500+ on your SATs, then you should get the top scholarship, but if you have a 1490, then only expect the next award down. hope that helps

that grid is not definite by any means. i had a 1440 and was ranked 2nd (out of ~300 so it's within top 5%) and only received $5000.

wackymother, I'm in the same situation, according to the graph, i have a 1490 which will give me 10,000, in which I will regret not getting 10 extra points which would have gotten me a full ride. Today I got the Carr scholarship, which is 10,000/yr as I expected. But after reading this thread, I see that the Carr scholarship doesn't correspond to the scholarship SAT/% grid??? Does anyone know if I will get more $$$ in addition to the Carr Sch.?

i just received the carr scholarship today

I received the JDC scholarship starting in the fall of 2007 - SATs were 2250, GPA was a 99.4 on a 100 pt scale and I was ranked 6/546. Recently received an email saying I hadn’t maintained the minimum requirements and I was ineligible for scholarship renewal - which is weird, because my cumulative GPA is currently a 3.907, I’ve completed 66 credits in the 4 semesters I’ve been here, and I haven’t dipped below 12 credits any one semester. Any idea why that would be revoked? Anyone have the specific requirements I have to meet to maintain this scholarship? I really don’t want to lose that $$ =/

According to this thread (scroll to the most recent ones on the bottom). . .

. . . and some of my friends who posted statuses on facebook freaking out about the situation, the email was a mistake apparently. So don’t worry about it.

That’s a massive a relief to hear. Thanks!
