Rutgers Scholarship?

I checked the status, and I got a Trustee Award (3.8UW GPA and 2280 SATs, with "good" ECs, and in-state). I was a bit upset not to have gotten the Presidential, of course. But, the problem is that it says I have gotten 13k per year with the Trustee Award. Looking through everyone else who got the award, it seems the Trustee Award is 16k per year. Does anyone know why this could be? I don't have any other scholarships at the moment, and I have not filed the FAFSA yet, so I don't know what could have even lowered it.

Should I call the Office of financial aid and ask about it? And for that matter, about the presidential scholarship as well?

If they won’t give someone like you the Presidential than they will continue to lose top students to Private schools. They don’t evven have the Trustee on their website. Why not???

Ah, thanks a lot for the support rebel, and yes, you’re right about the Trustee not being on website. It’s a bit unnerving… and I have no idea what to do.

I’d call them and ask if they can do better. Tell them I said it’s OK to give you my son’s $, he’s not using it. LOL good Luck

Haha, will do <3

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I would call and ask someone about it, not because I think they made a mistake, but because I would want to know the process they are using for giving different amounts.

Presidential is given to near perfect SAT score students. I know someone who had perfect GPA and 2400 SAT. He was given the presidential scholarship.

My son talked with his friends. The Trustee Award seems to be different amounts. $13,500 and $16,000.

That might be $13,000 not $13,500.

Seeing this new amount being offered (Trustee Scholarship), I’m wondering if Rutgers reduced the number of Presidential Scholarships it offers in order to create this new scholarship. It kind of makes sense considering that before this, the next scholarship was the Carr which is worth 10k. That’s a huge gap from 24k to 10k. So applicants on the cusp of a Presidential scholarship who used to get bumped down to a Carr now receive this Trustee Scholarship, which is apparently in the range of 13k to 16k. This would also account for the people on here with very good stats not receiving the Presidential, since there would be even more competition for them under this system.

Does anyone know what the trustee scholarship at Rutgers is? Is it only for the Newark or Camden school because I do not see it listed on the scholarships for Rutgers. What are the stats needed to get this scholarship?
