Rutgers MG Callback 2015

We just got an email for a waitlist. Not sure I understand that one as they are doing callbacks, but they callback more than they offer positions for, so are those who don’t get spots offered from the callback also waitlisted? Rejected? Little baffled…

My daughter was also notified today as being on the waitlist. It is going to be a very long couple months!!!

Wait listed here as well. I know of two other RSAC kids also wait listed. Kids are either rejected, called back for another look and/or to see if they like the program or put on the waiting list. I assume the kids who are called back are the first tier. As spots open (because those kids aren’t accepted or decide to go elsewhere) they’ll go to the wait list. Did your students go to rutgers summer acting conservatory? Do they have other schools they’re interested in/accepted to? Rutgers said we can expect hear between May 1st and August 1st! It’s going to be a long Spring and Summer around here!!

What is RSAC?

Guess that means that your son/daughter didn’t attend RSAC. it’s Rutgers Summer Acting Conservatory.

Wow! What a long time to be wondering on a wait list. Plus, you’ll have to commit to another school (and probably forfeit deposits) if you are ultimately accepted off the waitlist. Not that rejection rocks or anything, but at least it is decisive.

Best to all in getting the outcome that works best for them!

HamletsMom - no, my daughter did Carnegie and NYU for summer programs. Ok, well this is interesting.

My daughter did not attend RSAC or any other summer college program. Has anyone ever heard an estimate of how many kids are placed on the waitlist?

Yes, 2019theatermom, the waiting will be, to use kjd111’s word, interesting! I thought about that as well. She’ll have to choose a program on May 1st so we may very well lose a deposit. But I’m not as concerned about that as surviving up to five months not knowing where she’s actually going to school.
I hope students who realize that they want something else will decline promptly.
Oh well… It’s all grist for the mill. One way or another it’ll work out fine. Just have to remember to relax and breathe!
Wishing all of the class of 2019 parents and applicants all the best!!!
Next year we’ll be able to offer our expertise to the next wave of parents.

Hi Momlaw,
Don’t know how many students get waiting listed. They included the name of a contact in the waiting list letter. That person may be able to answer you question.

How were callbacks???

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/profile/100394235/mattsaisok, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/profile/453572/astute12, and any others who attended, how were callbacks? Do you know when you will be notified about acceptance? We’re on the edge of our seats on the waiting list.

Callbacks were fantastic! The acceptances were sent out last Wednesday via portal and email, and we got our packets via snail mail yesterday. There were about 65 people at callbacks, 25 of which were MFA candidates. The class was made up of somewhere between 22 and 28 including both BFA’s and MFA’s. Correct me if I’m wrong, but in years past, it looks like Rutgers has had a pretty long waitlist. Giving them a call or an email to ask about standings probably isn’t the worst idea.

Thanks Matt!!

Rutgers is still processing applications and acceptances are still going out. Everyone should know something by April 1st.
