Rutgers-New Brunswick or Vriginia Tech ? (Computer Science)

I am extremely confused on deciding on one. I am an international student for Fall 2014 and have to decide between Virginia Tech and Rutgers.

So a brief comparison (Correct me if I am wrong) -

Academics - Equal (But I hear Virginia Tech is more reputed in CS)
Location - Rutgers all the way due to it vicinity to NYC
Cultural Diversity - Rutgers
Career/Internships - Virginia Tech
Extracurricular - Rutgers (Hackathons and other projects that help build up Resume)

I am pretty much inclined on Rutgers but I wonder if it would be a mistake. Also, Rutgers's program is not ABET-accredited. Should i worry about that ?

Also, Which has a better reputation in the CS market and on the west coast ?

Please help! The day of decision is very near.

Also, major points about Virginia Tech that I should be considering that’d help me definately choose VT over Rutgers ?

I checked the Rutgers website , and it takes me to a USNWR ranking where Rutgers is 34th and VT is 40th.
If you are from India, you will feel at home at Rutgers and New Jersey.

Yup, I am an Indian :)

But I hear the engineering/CS department of VT is more reputed. When I see the recruitros at VT, all tech giants recruit there. However I am quite unsure of Rutgers and don’t exactly know which companies commonly recruit.
Any take on this ?

Bump !
Help me out!

Some times deciding a school to attend is very subjective. If OP think Vtech is more suitable for him, we cannot and won’t stop him to go there. Basically, these two schools are comparable in academics, either one will be fine.

Is the OP a NJ resident? If so, Rutgers. Both aren’t that much better than the other and it won’t really affect employment opportunities afterwards. In this case, you should pick the one that makes the most financial sense to you.
