I was just wondering which IT program is better at Rutgers New Brunswick or Rutgers Newark. I’m currently a student at Rutgers Newark majoring in Information Systems, which is the equivalent to IT, and I tried multiple attempts to get into Rutgers New Brunswick. I couldn’t get in due to some bad grades, but I have another chance at getting in again after one year with at least a 3.00 gpa. The main difference that I see between the programs at both schools is that there is no math in the New Brunswick program and I noticed that it is a bunch of electives. At the Newark campus there’s fewer electives, but theres applicable classes. I’ve heard that the IT program at New Brunswick is supposed to be really good, but I’m not sure if its worth transferring to.
Rutgers NB, by far. More choices - you can use these electives to shape your degree and tailor it to your strengths. Overall stronger level outside the major (which matters, too) and better environment. Better reputation in NJ as well as outside NJ.
