Rutgers-NJ Tag Grant question

Since the NJ Tag Grant waits to give the college w/e money the student was eligible for AFTER the student proves that they are a good student during their freshmen year in Fall... Is Rutgers going to wait till that time for that specific amount of payment, or do we have to pay the costs in August w/out the tag grant?

I honestly don't know how this works out, can anyone explain this to me?

Previously the Tag Grant has been applied to the Rutgers bill. You do not have to pay out any money in August, even if it isn’t credited to you accountant until Sept. Rutgers will know it is coming. Tag grant is only given to students that receive the Pell Grant, which means you are low income so they know there is no way you would be able to come up with the money.
