Rutgers or Ramapo?

I got accepted to Rutgers in October and knew that's where I wanted to go. I also applied to Ramapo and got accepted with a $6,000 per year scholarship, but I didn't want to go there because they didn't have my major. Since then, I've decided to major in computer science, which both schools have. Now I'm thinking Ramapo might be better suited for me. I'm kind of shy/introverted, so I'm not sure if a big school or small school would be better for me. I feel like Rutgers, being such a big school, would help me feel more comfortable making friends because I'll always be around new people. On the other hand, I feel like Ramapo would be good for me because I know a lot of people going, and it's smaller so there will be smaller classes which I more easily participate, and I can form a group of friends more easily. I live 10 minutes away from Ramapo, which I'm not sure is good or bad. I like knowing I can go home whenever I want. Also, the dorms at Ramapo are a lot nicer. I'm also worried that Ramapo will be boring, while at Rutgers, there's more to do. Which college do you think would be better for a shy/extroverted student? Which has a better computer science program?

Go to Rutgers.

My son got accepted to both as well and he decided on Rutgers. More resources, more classes to choose from, better reputation, better sports and so much to do all the time. Even though Ramapo has a beautiful campus, but it lacks diversity and not much going on around it.

There is another thread that was started earlier about this. Check it out

Ramapo offers a CS degree?

I don’t think you can really compare the two programs, Rutgers is the clear choice imo. Though it will probably be much, much harder/more rigorous than Ramapo.

I have a cousin who’s at Ramapo College now studying economics, but even he wanted to go to Rutgers, but he missed the application deadline, and an older cousin at Rutgers right now. Go to Rutgers. It’s the best decision you’ll ever make and once you do it, you’ll fall in love with the school. It happened to me, and I couldn’t have thought about doing anything differently now, especially since UMass Amherst was actually my top school for a long while (which I got rejected from, but that was long after I got accepted at RU). Even one of the admissions officers at Amherst told me that Rutgers is a great school.

I forgot to tell you that I had applied to Ramapo as a backup school and got waitlisted there. Still haven’t heard anything back from them, but as I said, it doesn’t matter now, since I enrolled at RU around two months ago. I’ve met a bunch of transfer students on the Go Rutgers website (the social network that the school has) who are also studying computer science right now.

Hey, I’m applying to Ramapo for next fall as a transfer student, and I read a lot about how students get great scholarships from Ramapo.
Now I was wondering, how did you get your scholarships? Do I have to apply for a particular scholarship? or do they offer it to me when I apply for college?
