Rutgers pre-med 1st semester classes

So during my apa day my advisor told me it would be wise to take both Bio and Chem in the same semester along with Calculus I. To top it all off expos is a required class for our first semester. Can anyone that took a similar schedule give me some insight on the difficulty of it? Would it be a smart move to request course changes or just stick with my current classes now?

I did it and it was difficult (I finished with a 3.5 but could have definitely done better if I had the time) heres what I would do if I got another chance.

I didnt take expos since I AP’d out so you have that which is not difficult but a very tedious and annoying course. Calc is very easy as long as you took it in high school.

If you didn’t take AP chem and AP bio in highschool, those classes can be tough. Unless you can handle it I suggest taking chem or bio in the summer. (Chem in the summer is MUCH easier my brother just did it and his exams were a lot easier than mine and there is a higher curve which I wish we had in the fall/spring, but you have to take both chems and lab so you can take orgo your soph year).

I mean no offense but some of the advisors are idiots. Your first week of classes, you can change your classes on your own through webreg which you will figure out how to use. Take easy electives and finish calc and expos right away. Don’t take calc 2 for your second math requirement. Take basic stats for research, much easier.

It’s fine, pretty standard even. You want to get those out of the way so you can get going with whatever it is you want to do. None of those classes are particularly hard, its all material you could have seen in hs, but it’ll probably be a good amount of work.
