I was accepted to both Rutgers SAS Honors Program and TCNJ (no honors). At RU I will probably major in Political Science or Geography, and International Studies at TCNJ.
TCNJ is cheaper per year for me than RU (by about 5-10k) but what I know of RU’s student life, size, and campus–and especially the diversity–makes me lean towards RU at the moment.
Are the campus/student life and opportunities at Rutgers worth choosing over TCNJ if it costs more? I’d just like some outside opinion. Thanks.
Totally different schools. TCNJ will give you more of a traditional campus; Rutgers is way bigger, with busses needed to get to/from classes. Honors at Rutgers will get you smaller classes; TCNJ should give you that anyway. I’d say TCNJ is arguably the better school overall, but they are so different I think you really need to decide which you like better.
Have you visited both?
Do they have admitted students day?
I would go and see what you think of your fellow potential classmates.
See what you think of the diversity and opportunties and size of campuses.
You can’t go wrong at either.
