I am applying to transfer to SAS and SEBS in New Brunswick for fall 2011. I was wondering if people who applied for Spring 2011 could post their stats (College you were transferring from, credits taken, GPA, SATs( if you sent them), and anything else you think would be worth mentioning) and admissions decision.

Also for people applying for Fall 2011, I would be interested in seeing your stats as well.

I figured it would be nice to get something like this started, i'm sure there are many other people out there wanting this info as well.

I’m also applying for Fall 2011 Transfer…
Stats:
College Freshman
GPA: 3.5 (will be 3.7 by end of winter quarter)
HS GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1800
Credits: Aprox 30 completed by end of the year.

Nope! You don’t have to submit them unless you haven’t finished 12+ credits by the application due date. They just happened to have mine from when I was in HS, and I had to retake them to test out of a math class, so I resent them just in case.

Oh, Rutgers doesn’t use that policy - that was my community college (they had awful placement tests that essentially put me in 10th grade math!). Rutgers has placement tests/uses your prereqs.

What are your stats/where are you applying?

I’m applying for Fall 2011 as a Transfer
County College freshman
Stats:
Credits: 16+
Major: Business Administration
GPA: 3.75
Applying: SAS, Business school in NB

I’m applying for Fall 2011 admission as well
Sophomore
Credits completed: 43 but I will have my associates in liberal arts by the time i (hopefully) attend
Major: As of now criminal justice
Current GPA: 3.26

I applied last year when I was a freshman with only 12 credits with a GPA of a 3.4 and was denied. I spoke with admissions and they had said they would look closely at my high school transcripts if I had under 24 credits. My high school GPA was only a 2.95. Hopefully with more credits and an associates degree, they will accept me.

All of my credentials were received on January 6th

Transfer RU, I was reading last year’s thread and I am sorry that you were rejected last year. I do however, feel that you have a great chance of getting in this time since you have lots of credits.
Are you in your second semester of sophomore year?
Are you applying to arts and sciences ?

anyways I checked my application status today and it was updated.

“Your status includes all required credentials received through 01/25/11” but it still says in process !

It is actually the first time they have updated it since i submitted my app back in november.

nicwayfarer - Thank you! Yes, I am in my second semester of sophomore year and I am applying to arts and sciences. I’m sure you will be hearing from RU soon. Last year I received an answer a day before it would have been three months! They really keep you waiting. Your GPA is amazing though, I’m sure you’ll get in!

TransferRU, I definitely remember you from reading last year’s thread… Although I am a bit worried myself now - they’ll only be seeing 17 quarter credits(30 by the end of the year), and my HS gpa was 3.5… I’m wondering if I’ll be in the same boat as you. Good luck this year though!

And nic, lucky… although I still don’t think anyone hears back until by the earliest late Feb. Most not until mid-march - although your gpa is exceptional so you should hear back pretty quickly.

Everything but my HS transcript is in and I have a feeling my HS screwed up, so it might be quite awhile before I hear…

You should go to your high school and check it out. Make sure they have sent out your transcript. Call rutgers also. My brother’s friend was in a similar situation. He sent everything in but his hs messed up so he got rejected because rutgers never got his hs transcript.
Are you currently in your second semester of your freshmen year?
If you only have 17 credits then they will weigh your hs transcript a bit. Are all those 17 credits college-level classes? Your SAT scores of 1800 are good enough.

I wish I could! I am actually out of state from my HS, so I can’t - and they require that I mail them a form to resend transcripts (which would take another 3-4 weeks :(). I emailed Rutgers today to see if I could send unofficial transcripts and haven’t received a response.
Do you have the rutgers admissions office number? I’ve only been able to speak with students from RuRutgers or something.

Do you think 3.5 is still considered bad when your a transfer (HS wise)? I took AP’s & such.

Also, unfortunately no - 4 of the credits aren’t college level (I was required to take a study skills class and they put me in a math class way below me, luckily I tested up to 111 this term), which is why I’m concerned (they don’t look after 12) - and we’re on a quarter system… so technically that is like 8 credits. Of course my Winter grades will be in in March and since I’m marginal they’ll probably wait till April to make a final decision…

I’m just so nervous, I was sure I had a shot :(
