Rutgers Spring/Fall 2011 Transfers!!!

congrats TransferRU

@lexsi340: i’m sorry to hear that RU never received the transcript…at least you can take that matter into your own hands and fax it yourself like you said. we both have to keep our heads up :)

@transferRU: congrats to you too!!

Lexi, faxing grades can be tough. It is better to have your college send them in. My brother faxed his grades a few times and rutgers never received them. Then he decided to have the college send his transcript.

Bottlecap - Thanks for the advice… I did have them send them in, but apparently my CC never actually sent them, so I had them do it again, but I am on another coast… so it takes awhile for them to even get them.

It just sucks because I went through this with my HS transcript last month!

@lexsi What GPA are you transferring with and which schools did you apply to? Just curious…

Just make sure you get this straight. It is just sad that you get rejected because they never received your transcript. This happened to my friend. His status said “not admitted because not all necessary documents received”

@schooldude I’m transferring in with a 3.5 GPA and about 20 credits (but right now, they can only see 11). Oh, and I had a 3.5 HS GPA as well. I just applied to SAS NB… transferring to the business school later.

@bottlecap I know, I remember you friends story actually, that’s why I’ve gone a little crazy. If they’re going to reject me, it better be a good reason!! I just hate that so many spots have filled up, I’m competing for less spots now…

@lexsi I applied with a 3.0 CC GPA, 3.4 Highschool and 39 credits and I was accepted. I think it’s your transferring credits that is messing something up…I would get in contact with them.

@schooldude

Okay… that makes me a little bit more confident, thank you!!

My friend has a 2.86 at brookdale with a associate after either summer 1 or 2 and he got in to SAS…don’t worry you will be fine

I got into Rutgers-New Brunswick!!!.. Yaaaaayyyyyy!!! :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: I feel so much better!! I thought I would have to go to R-Newark… Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!!! :D

congrats lamullinga. Please post all stats.

Congrats lamullinga! Didn’t you apply after the priority date too…? They must have really wanted you! :)

I was accepted into the RU schools that I applied too but I am wondering if anyone knows when you find out if you get one of the transfer scholarships? I know they give out 25 PTK scholarships subsequent to the offer of admission but that doesnt really explain a whole lot. Any ideas?

No idea…I was accepted almost 2 months ago and have yet to receive my initial offer. All my financial aid documents were submitted right after I was accepted. They will most likely put any scholarships you receive in the initial offer, but who knows when they’re sending those out. It would have to be before May 1 though so I’m guessing it can’t be too much longer.

Still no response…so I’m starting to wonder what I did wrong. I’m getting just a little worried because last year, I didn’t hear until the notification date, only to find out that I got wait-listed, and then eventually rejected. As I can recall, everyone who heard back prior to the notification date was either accepted or rejected. Those who didn’t hear back as promptly, were wait-listed. I’m not entirely certain if this is still the trend.

crunchmunch: I recall that being the process last year as well… almost everyone who heard hear by mid-march. However, some people who didnt get everything in on time hear back in like May, and others got denied in April…

I am holding out hope until this Friday, then I think I might just accept my position at the other school that offered me admission…

Ok… So, as I mentioned before, I just got accepted into Rutgers-NB (Newark accepted me a while ago)

Here is my info…

GPA: 3.95
Credits: 77 (at time of graduation, 28 of them from honors classes)
SAT/ACT: Don’t have them (I attended high school in my home country)
Double major in political science and sociology
Plenty of ECs, Honors College, presentations in conferences, published works (3 articles in newspapers, and 2 research papers)
Volunteer work: Plenty with and without college organizations, in and out of campus

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :smiley: :smiley: :D

I forgot something that the admissions people might have liked… I am a Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship nominee :)

lexsi: it was that way last year too? I’m getting worried…do you think the same still applies to people who applied past priority, or do they always hear after everyone else?

ughhh…i only applied late cause i was waiting to hear back from a job…if they had gotten back to me 2 days earlier my life would be so much easier -__-
