The article mentioned something about a "secret number" for TTRS...

Listen to other people's efforts, they may have found a short cut that actually works, yes the 11:59 p.m. call to TTRS sometimes can get you that class (and yes there is a secret number that privilege few know about).

Is that true?

Regardless, post your insights and experiences that you wish you knew upon first attending Rutgers.

Tips? Wow! I’m willing to share some:
(1) Food: Best dining halls supposedly are Busch and Neilsen (on Douglass). Busch is pretty decent, but once second semester starts, you get sick of the food. Tip: with the meal plans, get the lowest possible for freshman (210) unless you’re a beast and can find the time to eat 3-4 meals a day. ALSO take-out is your friend when exams come around … or if you’re late for that 8am class and just need a breakfast sandwich and coffee on-the-go.

(2) Internet in dorms: DO NOT attempt to download a torrent file or any huge files or else you will not be able to access the internet in your dorm for SEVEN DAYS. Don’t end up like me having to go and check my email at the Alexander Library. There’s this program called DC++ (shakespeer for Mac users). Find someone who can teach you how to use it. It allows you to download files directly from people without affecting your bandwidth.

(3) Clubs: Okay, I’ll admit. I did not join any clubs this year at ALL (though I plan to next year). But try to get yourself involve with at least a club or two during your freshmen year. You don’t want to spend your weeknights just surfing the internet for hours when you could be doing something productive like helping out and hanging out with people who share a common interest with you.

(4) Get involved (again): R.U.P.A (Rutgers University Program Association) and varies clubs and sororities/fraternities sponsor many on-campus programs like performances, dances, movie nights, guest speakers, etc. GO TO THEM! Keep yourself busy. While you’re at it, if you have a Facebook, add the RUPA group so you can be updated with events that are coming up.

(5) Classes: lecture hall classes – go to them at least 98%. Actually go to all of them unless you’re on the verge of death and need to stay in bed for the day. Your parents are paying you to go to college, so there is no point in you just showing up the first day for the syllabus and making an appearance until the class before the exam.

. . . if I think of anymore, I’ll post them =)
