Rutgers Transfer FALL 2009 Anyone waiting for acceptance with me?

my status page was updated on 3/15/09 and it said all my materials have been received. then my status updated again on 3/25, at this point i was waiting for the decision, assuming they had made it by then. but then i just signed in today and it said my status was updated on 3/30 and my application status is still "in process." is this good or bad news? the cynic in me believes it is bad :(

riverrun1, trust me on this when I say that Rutgers will not stall if they want to reject you. In fact, they would be more haste to reject people now since it is getting over crowded. I know because I got rejected twice by rutgers. I'm not embarrassed to admit it because I would reject myself too if I seen my High school transcript. Since I graduated 2 years ago from hs, they are not looking at my hs record anymore and thank god. In sum, i would rather have my application be updated to say "in process" rather than declined.

my high school record is atrocious as well. i have a 3.4 at community college but they still wanted my HS transcript so i'm assuming they're looking at that as well. the thing is, i dropped out of high school my sophomore year, so my HS gpa of two years must be something like 0.5, seriously! i got my GED and now in CC i'm doing relatively well, but i'm not sure if they're gonna look at my transcripts and compare them and say "oh this guy did terrible in HS" OR "oh look how this guy picked himself up!" i'm pretty worried! Also my SATs are an odd topic, because I did incredibly well in reading and writing (even got a 12 on the essay!) but absolutely god-awful in math. that said, my essay was excellent and my recommendations were glowing, BUT, those are the two factors they don't really look at at rutgers, my two strongest factors. i don't know, overall i have to assume i'm rejected though. i don't look good on paper.

also, i heard that the website only changes status to "admitted" or "waitlisted" and not rejected. I think if you're rejected it they do it via regular mail, right?

riverrun, are you sure that they won't say "denied" on the status screen? It worries me because my status updated on 3/25 with no decision

Can anyone who has been denied to a program/college at Rutgers chime in?

I'm pretty sure the status screen says "Not Admitted". At least that's what I've read on this board! It says "Admitted", "Waiting List", or "Not Admitted" next to each school.

Does anyone know when everyone must give there decision to Rutgers if they will be attending or not? and because i applied after the deadline does this mean i will have to wait to receive a response after everyone who submitted application before priority deadline give there decision ?

The deadline is May 1st!
I'm not sure when you will find out, I think it depends on how many people they have accepted so far and then maybe how many people accept their admission.

does anyone know whehter the status page updates the decision before or after they send you the decision in the mail?

Jogir223, if you applied after the priority deadline, like me, that means we're most likely to get our decision after April 15.
I don't think that anyone who is in a similar situation got any decision yet. First Rutgers would respond to apps who applied before the priority deadline, by April 15, then they'll look at other apps based on space available.

riverrun 1, I would assume that the status page updates the decision first before sending the decision in the mail.

Did anyone has been denied to any of the schools?

Yes, Has anyone been flat out rejected yet? Only ppl who have been accepted or waited-listed has posted. However, there was one rejection, but even that rejection turned into an acceptance! lol

LOL... still no answer to THE rejection question! Now I'm really curios...

I swear, you guys only read the posts that were posted last. A few posts ago, I confessed that I was rejected by rutgers twice (in 2007 and 2008). Both times it said I was not admitted on my status screen...the letter mailed was unnecessary and only added to the insult.

Hey,

I'm a freshmen from Baruch right now who is trying to transfer into SAS. I have a 3.8 but my hs grades were like a 75-80%. I just checked my status page and Rutgers is asking for my Spring 2009 grades. Does anyone know what that means? Because if we're supposed to find out by April15 and give a decision by May1 how would I be sending them my spring semester grades since they don't come out till the end of May. I have a feeling this is a bad sign.

LOL. Well...you know what they say hero, 3rd times a charm! This time you'll definately get in!

I havent been accepted or rejected yet. Still waiting. Checked my status again today (yes, very sad) and it still says its in process. I applied before the deadline of Jan 15 so i should be receiving something (acceptance/rejection) by April 15th. Well, only a few more days to go.

anniesays,

No clue, but based on this thread the fact that they are asking you for additional information should be viewed as a good sign as they're not rejecting you outright. Have you contacted their admissions office yet? Maybe they can clarify their request.

Herothydragon, thanks for the info, but we're talking about if anyone has been rejected for fall 09. I really hope noone gets rejected, but I just wanted to know the reason since I have not been accepted yet!
anniieesays, i don't know why they care about your spring sem transcript, but I don't think it's a bad sign. If they wanted to deny you, you would've been denied.

RU-READY, I'm surprised you have not get anything yet. Did you try to contact admissions. If not, I think you should try soon.
Good luck to all of us.

RU-READY, 3rd time is a charm and I'm going to rutgers next semester. I received my acceptance letter early this month and it was a bittersweet feeling. Rutgers still have one more opportunity to reject or accept me again, however, when I apply to the business school this July.
