I am a current Rutgers students and if anyone has any questions regarding admissions please feel free to post and i will gladly resond.

what major are u studying in?

Same here... I'm up to answer questions as well. I'm a Molecular Bio&Biochemistry and Philosophy double major. GUNOT, with a 3.0+ and a 1250 you're probably in I think, lower than that is iffy-- not like I really know. Asking students about admittance isn't always the best way to go though, we don't choose who gets in.

how much do u think rutgers would give me in terms of academic scholarships karu? i have like a 4.1 gpa(w) and a 2070 SAT, 1370 on teh old one with basically AP's and Honors thru junior and senior year.

G-U-Not

Do not assume anything when it comes to college admissions. Just because you live in Jersey does not mean you are in. You have to factor in SAT scores, GPA, EC activities ect, ect. For that matter what are you SAT scores and high school GPA- you did not list them

How are the students coping with the changes prompted by the budget cuts?

brownman5

THere are many different scholarships that can apply to you. I think Rutgers would give you about $5000 range or upwards. Do not take my word for that amount- it all up to the school.

I am a Economics major for those who are wondering

Students are coping with the changes by getting involved in camous polotics. There is going to be a big rally soon with the Tag line "How I got screwed by the budget cuts". Other than that there is not much students can do.

Brownman--

Yea, Scholarships won't be huge with an SAT below 1400. If you can, try to push it up.

Most Rutgers students have learned to live with the RU Screw (aka Rutgers beurocracy) and learned to get around it. I still have a great schedule with all the classes I wanted, so it hasn't been too bad... I had to worm my way around and get special permission numbers for some, but that's what you have to do. There were also other cuts in places that don't affect me... like not having the library open all night... but I study in my dorm's study lounge anyway.
