That was just great! From the title, though, I thought the post was going to be about the Longhorns interest in Saban.

Awesome! Roll Tide!!

Funny you should say that. This, from today: [Texas regents reportedly contacted Alabama’s Nick Saban’s agent in January | Campus Union - SI.com](http://college-football.si.com/2013/09/19/texas-regents-nick-saban/?sct=hp_t2_a7&eref=sihp)

Before anyone panics, the article contains this quote from Saban:

And this:

Let’s hear a big Roll Tide for old age! :)

Love the video!!!
Awesome!!!

Yea Saban! Even though my Longhorns need some help, not at the expense of Alabama.

Huh. Where have I heard this before… hmmmmm…

“Terry and I are very happy here in Baton Rouge. We really love LSU. We really feel like a part of the community here and we have a lot of good friends here.”

Lol, slippy. I’m surprised you didn’t add:

A youthful indiscretion, I say. ;)

Yet another opinion  : [Would Nick Saban leave Alabama for Texas? No chance - College Football - Michael Rosenberg - SI.com](http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130920/nick-saban-alabama-texas/?sct=cf_t1t_a3)

too funny … but you missed half the quote … and then there is this …

“Terry and I are very happy here in Miami. We really love the Dolphins. We really feel like a part of the community here and we have a lot of good friends here.”

Although now that Saban has the Bama job that pretty much is the top of the college heep … not many college jobs a job jumper could possibly consider better.

*“Terry and I are very happy here in Miami. We really love the Dolphins. We really feel like a part of the community here and we have a lot of good friends here.” *

I doubt Saban ever said that. He didn’t feel that pro was a good fit for him.

He is supposedly underpaid 3togo so don’t hold your breath.

Delusion continues to run deep in the heart of Texas  : [Texas-themed “Saban 2014” shirts are a real thing now | Campus Union - SI.com](http://college-football.si.com/2013/09/21/nick-saban-texas-alabama-shirts/?sct=hp_t2_a13&eref=sihp)

Hmmm…I knew this all sounded familiar to me for some reason.

“Terry and I are very happy here in East Lansing. We really love the Spartans and MSU. We really feel like a part of the community here and we have a lot of good friends here.”

For Bama’s sake, I certainly hope he’s gotten the “wanderlust” out of his system…but Tide fans may want to post a lookout near his house just in case. :)

In any case…he’s still trailing behind Lou “there’s nowhere else I’d rather coach” Holtz in the abandoned schools category. Just ask William and Mary, NC State, Arkansas, Minnesota, and Notre Dame.

^^

Oh good heavens. Coaches do have to take various jobs as they move up the ladder. It’s not wanderlust.

That said, Saban has said that “he’s too darn old” to start over at another school." That makes sense. He’s 61 now. It took him 3 years to win the BCS at Bama. If he were to go somewhere else next fall, he’d be 62…and not likely have a BCS team until he’s 64/65. So, what would be the point of leaving? He’d have to deal with 2-3 frustrating years when he doesn’t have to do that now. He certainly doesn’t need more money…and Bama would offer more if necessary to keep him anyway.

Don’t get hypersensitive mom2ck…we’re just teasing. :)

Nobody disputes that coaches need to move periodically to “move up the ranks”. It’s the repeated hollow statements of “I’d never want to coach anywhere else” like Lou Holtz is famous (or infamous) for that don’t ring true with folks. Fans of Saban’s former locales may take issue with the way he departed…I dunno. I can tell you there are a lot of Sparty fans here that don’t have the highest opinion of him, but as a Wolverine fan I’m not too concerned what they think. :)

He’s done a heck of a job for the Tide (they certainly cleaned my Wolverines clock), and so much the better for Bama if he stays.

You cant blame a coach for moving up the ranks. Going to Texas now would be a step down… Roll Tide!
