Sac State? (CSU)

Hey,

Has anyone heard anything good/bad about CSU Sacramento's electrical engineering program? I am currently a junior level CC transfer student with around a 3.55 GPA, and my two options are that I can either transfer to Sac State in August and finish up my degree within 3 years, or I can stay another year at my CC to finish more major requirements and apply to transfer to Cal Poly, UCSB, UCB (super reach, I know), or UCD. Waiting a year for these programs would basically mean it would take me another year to graduate realistically however (based on the curriculums i've built and re-checked numerous times), and I'm also interested in pursuing my masters degree after I graduate. The sooner I can get out of financial hardship the better as I'm basically trying to cover this all between a job and what financial aid I can get, but I have absolutely no problem waiting an additional year if I would be at much more of an advantage. The problem is I'm not sure if I'd be selling myself short to just transfer in August and graduate with my BS a year earlier? I know I can just transfer out after I graduate for my masters if I dont like Sac State; but don't want to attend a ridiculously bad undergraduate program, and I'm afraid that could possibly happen if i'm not careful. Between working and a full load of classes, i'm not sure if I can get up to Sacramento between now and May to check it out first hand, and I can't find nearly anything online that gives a good perspective of this program besides 'good professors, crappy commuter school.'.. And no, I dont care if there isn't a lot of school spirit or if the school isn't in a great neighborhood, I'm only interested in the credibility of the undergraduate program itself. Has anyone heard anything about this program?

I went to UCD, and had a friend drop out of the CS program at UCD because of a story too long for me to want to write here. He was a very smart guy, straight A and all that jazz. After being in the industry for 2 years he decided to go to Sac State and get an EE degree, which he did. Why didn't he go back to UCD? I don't know, but he got straight As through school and has been working at Intel for the past 3-4 years now in a high paying job with lots of responsibility, perks, and other awesomenss. Both my parents are graduates of Sac State, and my father is worth millions.

Is Sac State a great school? No. Will it teach you what you need to know to be able to excel at your job? Yes.
Will it teach you what you need to know to be successful? No. Only life will.

My buddy wouldn't have gone there if it was crap.

I’m an ME major planning on attending UCD or CSUS. Which of the two has a better engineering program? I have heard CSUS is simply better for the cost, but I would like to get as much insight on my decision as possible.

I would go to UC-Davis
