I am sorry to write such sad news. Mynameiswhatever has passed away unexpectedly.
Since he joined CC, he has been a very active member. He was instrumental in keeping the Politics Forum running, along with @sushiritto , and took his role seriously. He also contributed many insightful and helpful comments over the years he was here on CC, learning along the way as he helped his child through the college process.
I knew both mynameiswhatever and his child outside of CC. He was intelligent and sharp, with a great sense of humor. No one could argue better than him. He was his child’s biggest advocate. We are going to miss him very much. Rest in peace, mynameiswhatever.
I appreciate you sharing this news but truly hate to read it. @mynameiswhatever has been noticeably absent from CC the past month as he was so active and impactful for such a long time.
My heart breaks for his family. Sudden loss is so hard when you can’t say goodbye.
I got to know mynameiswhatever behind the scenes and he took his role as PF moderator very seriously. He was always very concerned about making sure his own political leanings didn’t influence how he was moderating and strived to be even handed and objective.
I was devastated to hear this news. He was a valuable colleague with such great insight. We had many conversations about his child’s journey in the admissions process as well as their first weeks on campus.
My thoughts are with his family. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
I am truly sad and give condolences to his family. I have learned a lot from him over the years. We all take so much for granted. Hope his child /family gets through this loss and his memory to be a blessing.
Such incredibly sad news. I was wondering about his absence from the PF. We sparred quite often and I appreciated his sense of humor and his fairness as a moderator. I will miss him!
Sending sympathies to his family and friends and wishing them peace during this difficult time.
I am so so sorry to hear this. I had great respect for mynameiswhatever and always enjoyed reading his insightful posts. My condolences to his friends and family.
This is the second sudden passing of someone in my orbit (learned last night that a former coworker died suddenly). It really drives home the fact that we aren’t guaranteed another day. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
