So sad. We will miss her posts. She was a very knowledgeable contributor.
Sorry to hear. Deepest condolences to her family
The first thing that came to mind wth this news revolved around the happy posts about her daughter’s recent wedding. So glad the family had a happy event together recently. Very sad news to hear she is gone . Wish she had been able to move onto the Grandparents’ thread some day!
I’m so sorry to hear this. She will definitely be missed by so many of us. My sympathies to her family.
So sad to read this. She’ll be missed.
It’s clear how profound her impact was here, reading through all the comments. Lookingforward was incredibly helpful to me last Fall, and was one of the first to send a private message to me congratulating D21 on her acceptance. Her advice was always consistent, always thoughtfully given and always appreciated.
On a happier note, I was able to contact Lookingforward’s children. Someone alerted them to this thread and they said they were very happy to see such lovely comments. They want you all to know that they appreciate your thoughts. They said their mom loved helping people here on CC. Hopefully her spirit will continue guiding students and parents for years to come.
Sad to learn of this; peace and comfort to her family.
May her spirit join with those of LateToSchool, SunriseEast, and InterestedDad and continue to inspire all who encounter this forum.
And Fallenchemist
She was a great contributor and always read her posts with interest.
RIP to one of the most helpful people on here.
I’m so sorry to hear this. RIP Lookingforward.
I have to say, when I saw this news, I was really taken aback. I’ve been on CC for three years and Lookingforward was such a presence here, in some sense, I almost felt like I knew her. I noticed that she hadn’t posted in a while and wondered what was up. Now I know. Very sad. Condolences to her family and RIP.
This is so sad . . .sympathies to her friends and family
Very saddened to hear about her passing. I think her last post summed up her way of thinking and experience with selective college admissions:
“Its not all about std scores and never was.”
The other takeaway I learned from her was that the process is “holistic” and that adcoms look at everything, the “whole” of the applicant is evaluated.
Rest in peace and may your memory be a blessing…
Such sad, unexpected news. Life cut short too fast.
She will be remembered in this community for her clear, often very direct and always helpful advice.
My condolences to her children.
I hope she meets FallenChemist where they are in their next life.
Oh, I am stunned and saddened to hear this. We’ve been “long-timers” together here for so long; i have always valued her words and her big heart. What a loss to her family and our world.
Her presence will be missed.
I remember on one thread I got a little too gung-ho and she gently reigned me in, without personally identifying me. I thought she was right, a total class act about it, and kind. It would have been nice to have met her IRL.
I was so shocked to read this…then realized I of course was not privy to her medical history, so why would I think I should have had advanced warning that something was wrong.
I hope her family takes comfort in knowing how much she meant to this community.
Such sad news. Her posts were always thoughtful and interesting. She will be missed/ May she rest in peace. Condolences to her family.
