wow. you're complaining about a 790. i don't know what to say

you all need to shut the **** up

You all are not good enough. Definite retake if you want to have any chance at the ivies.

Pity. Retake it and get that ever elusive 800. If you don't, your future will only amount to begging on the streets.

Seriously.

hahaha, sucks for you. i got three 800s. yay!

I retook a 780 Math Level 2.

20 points was definitely worth the 50 minutes of my life (and it bought me 10 minutes to guarantee an 800 physics).

OMG complaining about 790's? Jeez, be grateful. Man if I ever get a 790, I'd be so happy!!!

ya, i have a genius friend that doesnt complain about a 780 on Bio. he doesnt even complain about a 2250 SAT I. i would be optimistic like him. he doesnt even complain about his only B ever in high school (college class), while the rest of his scores are A's and A+'s

lol @ complaining about 790's.

Get a life.

Stop being such a wanker.

790 is good enough unless you're taking chinese (where the average score is ~760, and anything below a 720 is worthless).

i got a 790 in bio. i don't give a damn about the other 10 points.

There's a +/- 30 point error margin in SAT exams. Anything over 770 can be considered as perfect.

^^wat?? 10char

what's your problem... you probably posted this thread so you can tell everyone on the site that you got 2 800's and 1 790.

oh poor you. because i know that a 790 just MUST be about TEN THOUSAND TIMES more annoying than a 600.

why are people so bitter? 790 is an annoying score because you're close to perfect but you're not quite there. if anyone's crying about a 600 it's because you didn't study hard enough and now you regret it. getting a 790 means you studied your ass off but you made some stupid mistakes which you feel badly about

790... and complaining... Get a life.

How do you know the person with 600 didn't prepare? You don't.

And the previous poster was right about the +/-30.

Geez, I hope I don't end up working with people this anal.

Guys.. the difference between a 790 and an 800 is often one question! If you really want to.. retake it.. I'm sure your chances of getting that 800 are pretty high.. but chances of getting lower are also high!

I only got a 760 on USH.. I should feel sorry for myself now, :(. Lol! I don't understand how I got into Duke.. I'll probably be ostracized by my many non-800 SAT II scores.. I'll have no friends and drop out after sophomore year due to failing many of my classes....

Chill guys.. chill!

About the +/- 30 margin thing:

CB knows that each exam's curve won't be 100% precise, so they attach scoring ranges to your SAT 2 scores. If you received a 770 on a particular exam, you might see something like 740-800 listed next to your score. This means that on a particularly difficult form of the SAT 2 you just took, you might receive 740, while on a very easy form you might get 800. This doesn't sound scientific per se, but that's the way these exams work. One question wrong may drop you 10 or even 20 points, depending on your raw score. Sometimes these errors are just the slip of the pen (or rather, the pencil), so CB understands and really, there's not a difference between 790 and 800 - just doesn't look as good.

I know someone who never had a 800 on SAT 2s, but has THREE 790s. Talk about bad luck.

Never in my life have I ever seen such ingratitude. Shame.
