Safeties for an international student wishing to pursue a degree on comp science

Hi. I’m looking for safety schools to send the 4 free SAT score reports to. I’m a student from the Balkans with a perfect GPA (in my country). I want to major in computer science. Can’t say I’m confident about taking the SAT (will be taking it in June).

ECs (all I can remember): debate club, recreational swimming, piano, College Advising Center (in my country), some program about air pollution (I monitor air pollution in my city), Red Cross, NGO that aids handicapped people, programming.

Volunteering: free science classes and reading-together sessions with kids in minority communities.

How much can you afford to pay for college and are you in need to financial/merit aid? Safeties by definition need to be affordable.

Yes, I’ll need a lot of financial/merit aid.

Your vague response “I’ll need a lot of financial/merit aid” does specify the actual amount you can pay. There’s big difference in the schools that are feasible for you if you can pay USD40k/year vs USD15k/year.

No one can suggest realistic schools for you without knowing your SAT or ACT score.

A “safety” is only safe if you can:

  1. reasonably expect to be admitted, AND
  2. reasonably expect to afford it.
