international students please list you safeties?????????????

and what would be good safeties for someone with a 1970 sat and good grades and quite good ec's ???

There are no safeties for International student. AND you are NOT an International student. You are a US Citizen. YOU have safeties not us. Look at Illinois Inst of tech and New Jersey's Science & Technology University

Also consider MSU Montana State University and NDSU NDSU - North Dakota State University

i need 100% aid so its not really that easy for me either<okay!

and astronaut j or aJay why are there no safeties for internationals?

But most of the univerisities are need-blind so I dont think you should have a problem

Let me restate my statement there are no safeties for Internationals seeking a full ride.

well yes but they don't give a full ride do they-especially state universities where you are out of state? and with a 1970-you are like stranded -i am not sure any university will give me complete aid-except ohio state ;)

by the way- are you retaking sat- i read somewhre that you got a 1950-so i was curious to know

Yep I will be retaking it. But I have applied to a few colleges already. I have decent ECs to make up for it. I am waiting for my SAT II scores, they should be wonderful hopefully.

r u retaking in december?

Yep, in december.

well me too----another dreaded trip too delhi, and this time i got the other center--not the us embassy that is :(
i so don't feel like taking it again

I am both international confused. Who is international and who is not among you two? I am looking for safety too. I have pretty good stats. Can u suggest me some colleges that give a full ride?

I am afraid, but there is NO SAFETY for an int'l student asking for full aid....this a truth, accept it or leave it, your choice..

now i can ask you isaac- in which college are you?

ayush-
no college will definitely give you a full ride for sure-its all reltive blah blah..
Even for students there,
your best bet would be a second or third tier university.
i have a friend who was studying for the jee-didn't get through.....
he applied to this third tier university in michigan-i forget its name.
he got a full ride and he didn't even give sat-only toefl and his board marks (and he wasn't a citizen either).............

^ Try asking him what college was that, please. :)

I think for us international students safety should be like paying below 7ooo$ or may be around 4-5K. And we don not need to go so further as 2nd or 3rd tier colleges there are colleges where u have to demonstrate to pay 5000$ and they are in the top 100, also 5ooo$ is not a cut off as well.

Shreya: Just know that I am not in any US uni...

So do you mean to say that an international who does NOT need aid can have safeties the same way an American applicant would?

yes sure tetris- since their are very few universities that do offer aid for international students- he has very limited choices.
but for someone paying his way through- he can apply to not so competetive colleges and state universities as safeties.
