Or am I dreaming?? I recently visited Princeton and fell in love with the campus... I was just wondering if there were any other school campuses with a similar feel (size, building architecture, layout, etc.) that may be considered "safeties" for people applying to Princeton as a very high reach.....

Are there any like this or am I just dreaming...

Well, Duke's architecture and campus were patterned after Princeton. If Princeton is a "very high reach" for you, though, I wouldn't count on Duke as a "safety."

dartmouth looks like princeton? granted i haven't been, but not in any of the pictures i've seen. Dartmouth feels more old-school colonial to me, more like harvard or brown, while princeton seems to be most like yale and upenn (if we are talking about the ivy league).

Dartmouth and Princeton both have beautiful campuses with appealing architecture and don't have the hustle and bustle of a city. IMO the exact style of architecture doesn't have a huge impact on quality of life.

Other goths include Yale and University of Chicago. They are hardly safeties, but freaking gorgeous. (Though I haven't been to Yale in a while to make a comparison, Chicago's campus is more compact than Princeton's).

Yale Duke Dartmouth all look and feel like Princeton - lots of green, suburban area (minus Yale). All are also really selective...so not safeties. But, applying to more schools increases your chances of getting into one.

The University of Chicago has an incredible campus but it's in a high crime neighborhood of Chicago. So it's probably not what you really want if you're in love with Princeton. Not to sound like a broken record, but there's more to a school than it's architecture, even if you're just talking about the feel of the campus.

I would agree with slipper1234, but if Princeton is a high reach, I don't think that Dartmouth will be a "safety". The same holds true for Duke.
