Safety at Trinity

Hello.

We did a tour at Trinity last month and were concerned about the neighborhood and campus safety. Can anyone share information about safety issues on campus and level of concern about the immediate area?

Thank you!

srs,

Well during the school year there were some reports of Trinity students getting mugged. I remember we received an email of a student staying out late at night (3 am or so) and getting stabbed.

I found a bullet on Summit St.

But generally if you don’t stay out late and have some common sense, you should be okay. But I wouldn’t go if I had to choose again.

Thanks for the information. Did you otherwise like the school or was the neighborhood just one factor that made you write you wouldn’t return if you had a do-over?

My nephew graduated just a few months ago, and his sister (my niece) will be a senior at Trin Col. He loved it. Doubled majored in Chem and Math and worked closely with his professors as a researcher partner and intern. My niece loves it less: she has a harder time finding friends altho he has two very close friends. Last year, she traveled to Ausie for a semester and wow, what a terrific experience.

In answer to your question: they NEVER commented on concerns about safety. My nephew was into their EMS too. Never an issue. They did try to live on campus whenever possible, sometimes as the RA.
