safety or match school w/ strong econ

My dream school is currently Princeton(the dream of taking a class of Paul Krugman), Harvard, and Stanford and I am agonizing myself over the list of safety and match schools.

I am considering U of Chicago as my match school, even though it is little tough to make. Northwestern is also my second pick. But other than that I have absolutely no idea about what to pick for another match school and three safety schools.

Yes, I am considering U of Illinois and colorado college, but I really don't have much idea about my safety schools.

here is my general stat
GPA: 4.21
class rank: 2nd
ACT: 31(I know it's kinda low I'm gonna take it again. prediction:32~35)
living in Chicago, but international student (Korean)
(been in the states for 3 years)
cross country: f/r sophomore 2yrs( 1yr as a captain)
treck team: f/r sophomore 2 yrs( 1 yr as a captain)
Fed challenge club: f/r sohphomore 2yrs (1 yr as a captain)
Chess club: f/r sophomore 2yrs
vice president of the student coucil ( as a senior)

If U think my list is unrealistic or need a better direction, plz post it! I will be glad to see it.
BUt I will enjoy a suggestion for safety school more thx!

For your target schools, GPA, class rank and your running ECs are very good. But your ACT score is not helping you.

You have a good chance at U of Chicago and a decent shot at Northwestern, but you need to add some less-selective schools even if you raise your ACT score.

For economics, I'd look at LACs, as (a) I like them, (b) quite a few LACs have very good departments; (c) unless you are a State champ, your running ECs will help you more at a D3 school than at a D1 university.

With a 31 ACT, consider these schools as potential matches and safeties: Franklin & Marshall, Denison, Reed, Kenyon, Trinity, Bryn Mawr, Lafayette, Grinnell and Macalester.

Raise it and add these schools to the list of maybes: Wesleyan, Carleton, Claremont McKenna and Haverford.
