Sam Houston State University -- Good Theatre/Acting Program?

<p>I was recently accepted into Sam Houston State University as a Theatre major (with an Acting emphasis).
SHSU does not have auditions for their theatre students, so I am wary as to the quality of the program. Naturally, if all students who apply to theatre can get in just by admission to the university, my first thought is that the program isn't very challenging or useful to those who are incredibly passionate and dedicated and come from Fine Arts high school.
But I could be very wrong!
I just want input onto those who actually know the program, because I do not.
Is it considered a good program to train actors?
What is is like?</p>

The program is really good. Especially their mt program. They do semesterly juries for both and on all aspects for the degree. The mt at graduation takes students to perform for agents in nyc. I grew up in mt troupes with leaders from broadway and it is considered a hidden gem for theater.
