Sam Walton WalMart Scholarship

oh thank god! good luck to all of you!

My dad had the same issue - he didnā€™t want 7 social security numbers sent to the Sam Walton place. I figure - if they can send out the wrong email to all the semifinalists, who knows what could happen to our socials. He said he was going to call before mailing off my supporting documents today, but I havenā€™t heard from him whether he blacked them out or not.

If some of you guys who made semi donā€™t mind sharing, what was your 2010 AGI? Iā€™m wondering if mine was too high and that was why I was rejectedā€¦ :/

I can tell you that my EFC is 4,000 if that helps.

Mother is disabled from a stroke. EFC=AGI=0

12,000 EFC here. My calculated ā€œfinancial needā€ is probably too low. :/

EFC = 0. My dad is the only one working and supports my mom and five kids. Plus I have an older sister in college too. Our adjusted gross income is below $30,000.

Anyways. FYI: You can black out your SSNā€™s on the 1040 front page. Too late for us, since I mailed mine in yesterday. Iā€™m oober paranoid that it wonā€™t get there in time, so I wanted it sent right away! haha.

woo! Iā€™m a semifinalist  haha
my efc is 0 :</p>

Do all of the scholarship recipients get $3,000?

do we send in our official transcripts?

@ ZingJValZing; OMG i finally understand your codeā€¦ now that iā€™m in ap cs, such things are no longer esoteric!!! i am totally a part of the in crowd now!! LOL LOL :)

@fhaselroth - Yes, all finalists get $3,000 checks signed to their college.

@tracyhere - The checklist said ā€œcopyā€ of transcript, so both official/unofficial transcripts are good if you got it through guidance/online school grading system.

so this is for ppl with financial aid problems only?!

My son is also a semi finalist! He also got the semi finalist email, then the scary email, then the correction email so all is good. He is starting to gather the info to send in. Good luck to all! Letā€™s see all the CCā€™ers semi finalists win this one!

To other semifinalists, how are you guys sending in your SAT scores? My transcript doesnā€™t mention my scores at all, so Iā€™m confused on how to include a copy. Do I directly send via collegeboard? Send a paper copy?

EFC would be 0 this year, single parent household.

No Semi-Finalistā€¦ Probably because they used 2009 tax information

You can print the scores out and use that, instead of having to pay to send the scores.

I got the semifinalist email and my EFC was 1441: my stepdad is unemployed, and out of that meager income has to pay 29% of that for child support. My mom runs a small daycare through my home.

@JelloBiafra - :] Congratulations! lol. Tha code was actually just a fragment of CS; I didnā€™t initialize it or give it an initial value, so itā€™s actually a product of laziness :P

@ EFC question:

My EFC was $23,000. Yeah. But I had monstrous stats and ECā€™s.

Hey guys, what colleges are you guys attending this fall or your #1 college?
