So I've finished my apps and I've sent them all in but now that the actual stress of applying is over, I'm feeling this terrible regret. I used the same essays that I used for QB for most of my apps. Was that a stupid thing to do on my part? I know that QB says that you can, but I don't know, I just regret doing that so much now. Did anyone else do the same? Am I just freaking out for no reason now?

It’s recommended that you do so. If you applied to schools that required the common app, then rest assured that they really just use the QB app as a supplement. Pretty sure Uchicago doesn’t even look at it.

^You think UChi doesn’t look at the QB app? I’d be surprised if they didn’t- the QB has (if they haven’t changed it) more chances to convey who you are.

OP, not to worry. It’s common. Good luck.

@lookingforward: UChicago claims that they do not read QB applications.

Yes, Uchicago doesn’t use the qb app. It’s on their website. Using the qb app in conjunction with the common app is too much I’m assuming, even if one app highlights you in a different light.

Other schools, though, will review what is submitted. I don’t know Chi’s relationship with QB. My experiences with the QB app is that, while some responses can be used for both that and the CA, it’s good to completely fill out the CA, answer questions not on the QB, so you are offering the same input as kids who only did the CA, if all that makes sense.

Then am I screwed if I basically wrote new essays?
