I’m afraid I don’t have any hair and makeup recommendations for you. I know that my stylist and many others are very busy so I suggest booking appointments early at any place you find. Liberty Station is close to Point Loma so you might want to look up salons there.
A couple of other places for sunset dinners. Jake’s and Poseidon’s both in Del Mar.
My salon in Ocean Beach (Details Salon) does bridal services and “Aveda make-up lessons” so might be able handle your friends. I get my color and cuts there. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from Liberty Station.
There is also JOL Salon in Liberty Station; their web site says they do makeup. I originally went there when we moved to the area but left because they kept changing stylists. They do get good reviews. And they are next to Fig Tree Cafe, a great outdoor brunch/lunch place.
