I know UC San Diego is better academically, and SDSU is more fun....But where would you experience a better college life....I'm leaning towards SDSU just because they have everything...but I don't know if that will make up for the academics. What's your opinion?

go to the UC much better

sdsu has more of the college experience

if by college experience you mean driniking and what not...you get that in high school!

definitely attend UCSD. from my experience, a lot of the parties have a mix of UCSD/SDSU students anyway.

ucsd has no parties.

ok but your what maybe 20 minutes from sandiego and in one of nicest towns anywhere and academically the two dont compare

^ But that wasn't the criteria he was asking for. UCSD has a reputation for having students who are very introverted and who have very little social lives. SDSU has the opposite reputation.
IMO you might want to look outside of San Diego if you want a good mix of both, unless that's not possible because of financial or personal reasons.

It's what you make of it. In general if you an introvert as UCSD you'll stay that way if you want to go out join clubs, ect, you'll meet people. same thing at SDSU.

Another thing you'll want to look at is what you're going to do after your degree. A UCSD grad will see more doors open at the end of 4 years than a SDSU grad assuming the same GPA.

You should really visit both and find out for yourself.

if you have the money check out USD, its private and expensive, but its a nice mix

Thanks for the replys, But it seems that you guys are just saying UCSD because it has better academics. I want to go into either marketing or accounting so SDSU seems better in that area. Also I plan on going to a lot of athletics events like football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball so SDSU is better in that area too. Plus SDSU seem to be way more laid back so I think it is a better fit for me...So again thanks for the replys.

WOOO! YA! ill see you there some time!

That seems to be a popular notion. But there are quite a few parties every weekend off campus (UCSD campus is pretty much dead on most nights, except for smaller gatherings). There are a lot of nerdy introverts at SD, however, there are a lot of social people as well. The social life there has to be seeked out, but it is there.

ucsd is a ****load better academically. this shouldnt even be a tough choice. i know youre looking for the "full college experience" with parties and drinking and whatnot, but go to a school for academics, not the party scene.

go to ucsd

I chose SDSU over UCSD for the same reasons!! Hotter girls, better party scene and they offered me a finance degree. Theory does not seem that practicle in the business world to me. Networking and social skills seem a thousand times more important than theoretical economic academics (what UCSD provides) (so the saying goes, it's not about what you know, its about who you know).

My brother told me I'm not allowed to go to SDSU because that's where strippers come from.

But seriously, UCSD will give you a better education, unless you're going into business and plan to stay in the SD area. In that case, the connections you could make at SDSU would probably be more useful.

I'd go to UCSD even if it means killing your social life. Then again, why make the social life come to you when you can create it yourself among a group of friends? Ultimately, academics come first.

You can party anytime in your life without feeling bad after. You CAN attend colleges anytime in you life, but u'd be behind everyone else. and I'm sure you wouldn't want to be in college when ur like 40.
