BUMP? PLease?

I know absolutely nothing about San Francisco's art institute or I would surely offer whatever information.

I do know that CalArts and Art Center are big names in west coast art schools. Are you looking at any of these schools or others, by any chance?

Hopefully someone more informed on this topic will also chime in...

im not applying here (going to USC) but they kept on sending me emails telling me to apply so I was curious... Does anybody know anything about it?

It's a pretty good school but it's in the shadow of other huge cali art school. My aunt taught some classes there, a while back.

I vistied SFAI over spring break, and admit that online it seems average or even lightly less. But I was visiting CCA and stopped by to see it. Well- I fell in love. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the students all seemed so comfertable with who they were and just really down-to-earth. Not sterile feeling at all. and it is actually rather prestigious. I didn't know this until I visited, but Ansel Adams was a faculty member there and annie leibovitz graduated there plus many more. Also, everything is contained in one building, which gives it a sense of a campus, while still in the middle of the city. Also, they are adding a Liberal Arts program, so that students who don't want to abandon traditional learning all together, classes are available. I really loved the school and would recomend a visit.

The school visited my daughter's Arts HS and my D was impressed with their presentation, personnel and student art. The distance was the only turn off: she wanted to stay in the northeast.

While in SF did anyone visit Acadamy of Art University?

Photos of the SFAI campus are sparse on their website but I found their site for renting the facilities for conferences, check out the portfolio photos: San Francisco Art Institute: [San Francisco Art Institute: North Beach Location for Event Rental and Shoots](http://www.sfai-location.com/index.php#a=0&at=0&mi=2&pt=1&pi=10000&s=0&p=1)

WOW, it is truly inspirational and amazing!
